About Malang
Malang is the second largest city in East Java and popular due to its cool climate, great historical significance, attractive rural surrounds, and easy to reach from the main trading port city of Surabaya. The city is located between two groups of mountains with Mt. Semeru, the highest mountain on Java, and Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park to the east. Bromo mountain is famous for its sunrise scenery and the surrounding savanna.
Close to Malang is Batu town, a major agricultural centre surrounded by mountains and hills with apple orchards everywhere and a large number of orchid nurseries. Batu and surrounding villages make for a charming place to enjoy nature scenery and grow rapidly as local and international tourist destinations.
A tour-and-travel agency will be available on the conference site for participants to enjoy the sunrise view of Mt. Bromo after the closing ceremony of the conference. The trip to Mt. Bromo will be started on the night of 8 March 2017 and they will arrive back in Malang on 9 March 2017, in the afternoon. Participants who are interested in joining the tour can inform the committee through the email (isllac@um.ac.id) or phone (+628XXXXXXX).
